Privacy Policy

Ufish IN ("the app", "we", "us") is a macOS application developed independently. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains clearly what data the app accesses, what it does with it, and what it does not do.
1. What Ufish IN does
Ufish IN indexes InDesign (.indd) and layout files stored on your Mac, generates visual previews of those files, and displays them as a searchable card library — entirely on your device.
2. Data we collect
We collect no personal data.
- Ufish IN does not collect your name, email, or any personal identifier.
- Ufish IN does not track your usage or behaviour.
- Ufish IN does not send any data to our servers — we do not operate any servers.
- Ufish IN does not use analytics SDKs or third-party tracking tools.
3. File access
Ufish IN reads InDesign and layout files from folders you explicitly choose. It generates preview images of those files and stores them locally on your Mac (in the app's sandboxed cache directory). Your files never leave your device unless you explicitly use the Cloud Backup feature.
4. Cloud backup (optional)
If you choose to use the Cloud Backup feature, Ufish IN copies preview image files (not your original InDesign files) to a location you select — such as iCloud Drive or another cloud provider you have already connected to your Mac. This transfer is performed directly by your Mac's file system. Ufish IN does not have access to your cloud account credentials.
5. Subscriptions and purchases
Ufish IN offers optional in-app subscriptions (Starter and PRO) processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not handle or store any payment information. All billing is managed by Apple. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for details on how Apple handles subscription data.
6. App Store review prompt
After a period of use, Ufish IN may present Apple's standard in-app review prompt (via StoreKit). This is handled entirely by Apple and does not involve any data collection by us.
7. AI and model training
Ufish IN does not use your files, previews, or any data to train AI or machine learning models — ours or anyone else's. Your work is yours. We never see it.
8. Children's privacy
Ufish IN is a professional tool intended for adult users. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
9. Changes to this policy
If we ever update this privacy policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review it periodically.
